Dr. Ken Colosimo
Psychologist

Weekdays. Adolescents and adults.
I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from York University. I have trained and worked at several hospital and university sites providing therapy and assessment and engaged in clinical research. My approach to therapy is evidence-based and integrative, which essentially means listening carefully to the person’s experience, establishing a good connection, and then drawing upon a variety of well-established therapeutic methods depending on the goals and needs of the client. I have training in cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapies. Examples of conditions and concerns that I work with include depression, grief/bereavement, low self-confidence, anger, worry, health anxiety, longstanding interpersonal problems, and existential concerns (e.g., lack of purpose and meaning in life; facing ‘big decisions’; death anxiety). My background also includes mindfulness meditation for those who are interested in integrating this kind of practice into therapy to strengthen attention and cultivate peace of mind. I provide therapy to adults and adolescents, and offer assessments to adults, adolescents, and children.
